Burnley Medical Practice hosted a successful Carers Afternoon for all members of the public on Wednesday 22nd August 2018See pictures from the event below.

The event was well attended, mixed with members of the general public, registered patients, local healthcare providers and surgery staff.

Attendees had the opportunity to meet with the Practice Manager, together with new and long standing staff members of the practice. The event helped to raise awareness about a number of local services for Carers, all of which are accessible through the surgery for patients and residents of Brent.

The event provided a great platform for local healthcare services to engage with one another, promoting a holistic and community based approach to healthcare, and all enjoyed some well earned refreshments provided by the team at Burnley Medical Practice.

Debbie Howe, Deputy CEO of Brent Carers said “I just wanted to say thank you for inviting us yesterday- it was a good session and it’s great to see that your doctors are so keen on supporting carers.”

The local services that attended were:

  • Brent Carers, who offer confidential information, advice and support service to all carers living in Brent.
  • Healthwatch Brent, who help local people get the best out of their health and social care services by running various events, projects and activities in and around Brent.
  • Peter Latham, Chair of the Burnley Medical Practice PPG, who was sharing local knowledge and how patients and carers can be involved in shaping the care delivered at the practice.
  • Dr Noursadeghi, our Lead GP at Burnley Medical Practice, who was offering advice and support for carers and patients.

Burnley Medical Practice were delighted to host this event, and extend special thanks to the practice team and services who made this all possible.
