Your Career. Our Commitment.

“During my GP Training, I found that AT Medics provided an organised, nurturing environment and I therefore applied to continue as an independent practitioner after my registrar year. I’ve been supported and developed to take on a GP Lead role in my practice.

I have also had the opportunity to develop and utilise my computer programming skills, my expertise have been utilised to develop web-tools and to be part of SATIRE.

As a GP I have been fascinated by the dynamics of the consultation and the therapeutic relationship. My skill in this area has been greatly expanded by being encouraged to develop as a trainer for the practice. Not leaving behind my clinical knowledge AT Medics have supported learning though organised consultant virtual clinics and a network of sharing best practice. The team culture here encourages feedback and reflection – this is so essential for the therapeutic relationship I have with my patients.

Dr Simon Hassan | Associate GP, Edith Cavell Surgery
“I joined AT Medics in early 2007 and it has been a challenging but rewarding ride. I have learned so much, been closely supported and always stretched in my abilities.

I started in primary care as a receptionist but when I joined AT Medics, I knew I wanted to progress. Chasing excellence is never easy but I have enjoyed my time immensely and working with the directors has been inspiring.

I have completed a Diploma in Practice Management and attended numerous related courses as part of my CPD. I progressed upwards within the AT Medics management structure and am now a Senior Manager.”

Tahira Kamran | Senior Manager, AT Medics
“I joined AT Medics in the summer of 2009 after completing my undergraduate degree at Kingston School of nursing. I had always wanted to be a practice nurse so jumped at the chance to join AT Medics.

I received first class in house training and support and had the opportunity to attend numerous external courses. My time so far has been amazing in terms of the case mix I see along with the increasing responsibility I have been given. I now do a lot of the chronic disease management within the surgery.

Support is always easily available and the doctors are very approachable. I am really looking forward to developing my skills in dealing with minor illness and plan to become a nurse prescriber in the next few years.”

Laura Peacock | Practice Nurse, Parkway Health Centre
“I joined AT Medics in August 2007 after finishing my GP registrar year in North East London. It has been amazing working in such a vibrant dynamic atmosphere.

I have found it challenging but have definitely enjoyed myself. The support from the other GPs has been excellent and I have learnt so much about aspects of general practice that I was not exposed to during my registrar year. I have been able to get excellent training in both clinical and non-clinical aspects. As a result I am now able to provide advanced contraceptive and substance misuse services in additional to core general practice while taking on more management responsibilities.

I am now also a teacher in primary care and supervise F2 doctors.”

Dr Esther Fernandes | GP, Trowbridge Surgery
