GP Director and Founder Dr Aumran Tahir will be presenting at Velocity Health’s digital health start-ups event, “NHS Deconstructed”, on Monday 16 July 2018.

Velocity Health is a collaboration of Wayra and MSD, seeking healthcare start-ups who will use technology to help support disease and illness prevention. The aim of this collaboration is to empower patients to take more control and ownership over their well-being, with emerging digital technologies having a vital part to play in achieving this goal.

Dr Tahir will be speaking from first hand experience of what it takes to develop an NHS digital health start-up, AT Tech, through to delivering patient centric digital participation and empowerment at-scale, with NHS primary care grass roots.

Dr Tahir has significant experience in leading and delivering highly innovative transformation in extremely challenging situations. His journey as an innovator started in 2005 when he co-founded AT Medics and he is now the CCIO (Chief Clinical Information Officer) for AT Medics, AT Tech and AT Learning, and the Medical Director for AT Medics North and West London practices. He has held posts in integrated care including the Clinical Director of the North West London Whole Systems Integrated Care Programme. He is an experienced GP specialist trainer for the London Specialty School of General Practice and has successfully mentored both GPs and GP “trainees in difficulty”. He is an Honorary Senior Research Fellow at the University of Surrey (Healthcare Management & Policy) and a Health Foundation Quality Improvement Fellow. He is also Faculty International Development Lead for the North West London RCGP Faculty, and is a Fellow of the RCGP.

The health tech start-up community are welcome to join us on Monday 16th July to explore the network and for a fantastic discussion about experiences of working with the NHS, opportunities and barriers to change along with other digital disrupters. In addition to Dr Tahir, Director of Digital Health at Innovation Agency Alan Davies, James Flint from Hospify and Dr Precious Lunga from Baobab Circle will be presenting healthtech experience at very different stages in their NHS a journey which makes for an illuminating contrast.
