Apprenticeships combine practical training in a job with study. Apprentices work alongside experienced staff, gain job-specific skills, earn a wage and get holiday pay, study towards a related qualification (usually one day a week) and generally take one to four years to complete depending on their level.
Edith Cavell Surgery has employed a number of apprentices and was recently thrilled to learn that Cian Simmons who completed a one year apprenticeship at the surgery passed all of her exams. Cian’s training and development during her time at Edith Cavell Surgery enabled her to apply and subsequently be offered a job as a Senior Receptionist at Brigstock Family Practice on Friday 26th June 2015.
