Cassidy Medical Centre hosted a successful Health & Wellness Open Day for all members of the public on Friday 30th October 2015.

The event was well attended, mixed with members of the general public, registered patients, PPG members and CCG representatives.

Attendees met the new GP Director at Cassidy Medical Centre, Dr Aumran Tahir, and new members of the practice team as well as the existing practice staff. The event helped to promote the role and benefits of Cassidy Medical Centre, planned and ongoing improvements, as well as raising awareness about a number of local healthcare service providers accessible through the surgery for patients and residents of Hammersmith and Fulham. A number of patients also signed up to the Patient Participation Group at the practice, a practice/patient partnership group designed to help ensure that the practice meets the needs of all of its patients.

Local service providers included London Ambulance Service who demonstrated CPR techniques and how to use a defibrillator to adults and children, Kick-it Stop Smoking Service, Link Line (part of Chapel St), a community wellbeing service for people with complex health needs, isolation, loneliness or disability, H&F Food Bank, Back on Track who work on the Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) programme, Age UK H&F, Nutrition and Dietetics service and Ramblers, a free group walking service.

Staff also provided services on the day: Healthcare Assistant Chitra Yadav provided over 10 free mini-health checks and a number of flu jabs and Receptionist Dionne-Kelly Jellow made many children happy with free face painting.
