Streatham Place Surgery hosted a successful Health & Wellness Open Day for all members of the public on Wednesday 28th October 2015.

The event was well attended, mixed with members of the general public, registered patients, PPG Chair Peter Besong, representatives of the Lambeth and Streatham PPG networks, and a Healthwatch representative.

Attendees met the new GP Director at Streatham Place Surgery, Dr Tarek Radwan, and new members of the practice team as well as the existing practice staff. The event helped to promote the role and benefits of Streatham Place Surgery, planned and ongoing improvements, as well as raising awareness about a number of local healthcare service providers accessible through the surgery for patients and residents of Lambeth. A number of patients also signed up to the Patient Participation Group at the practice, a practice/patient partnership group designed to help ensure that the practice meets the needs of all of its patients.

Local service providers included Mosaic Clubhouse, a mental health support provider, Lambeth and Southwark Action on Malnutrition Project, Lambeth Carers Hub and New Park Pharmacy.

Staff at Streatham Place Surgery also provided services on the day: Healthcare Assistant Rita Patel provided over 10 free mini-health checks and Senior Receptionist Nishali Fernando made many children happy with free face painting.

Omar Din, AT Medics Head of Marketing & Communications said “Our aim for this event is to improve patient experience at Streatham Place Surgery and for the wider community to learn what we have to offer. This is the first ever health and wellness event for Streatham Place Surgery, and we are delighted to coincide this with our recent acceptance of a five year contract for the surgery.”

AT Medics were delighted to host this event, and extend special thanks to the practice team who made this all possible.
