Kings Cross Surgery attended the Camden Mela at Coran Fields on Sunday 26th July 2015, to reach out to the wider community with its services, despite the wet weather.
Visitors to the surgery’s stall commented on how surprised they were with the enhanced level of services on offer, including online access such as booking appointments and viewing test results, as well as video and email consultations. Visitors also mentioned their appreciation of the extended hours throughout the week that the surgery offers.
Suhal Ullah, Practice Administrator at Kings Cross Surgery said “It’s not often that GP surgeries take the opportunity to meet the wider community outside of their four walls, and it was a pleasure to represent Kings Cross Surgery at the Camden Mela. We spoke to visitors who were unaware that they did not necessarily have to be residents in our catchment area to be registered with the surgery, which we have found is particularly useful for those individuals who work in the local area, whilst Kings Cross station is a commuter hot spot; we are ideally placed to deliver primary care services to patients from across London.

“Sometimes we assume that patients who need us will simply find us, but I think it’s important we attend such community events to raise awareness and to also listen to the needs of the community in order to shape the patient focussed care that we provide.

As part of our social responsibility, we also provide all homeless patients with a free health check and make sure we monitor them on a biannual basis. We make the registration process easy for all patients, and we invite anyone interested to drop in so our staff can assist them as required.”
